Moon Era Films is an American independent entertainment company that specializes in film production, creating experiences, and, eventually, film distribution.
In short, we’re building a tight-knit community of filmmakers passionate about creating, growing, and dreaming.
To be a leading independent film production company, creating captivating stories that bring unique perspectives to life. Ultimately, we're striving to build a network of dreamers and doers -- individuals who feel their purpose in life is to create, inspire, and truly live.
"We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for."
"You must strive to find your own voice. Because the longer you wait to begin, the less likely you are to find it at all. Thoreau said, 'Most men lead lives of quiet desperation.' Don't be resigned to that. Break out!"
"To quote from Whitman, 'O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless... of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?' Answer. That you are here — that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?"
Our team consists only of those who are both incredibly passionate about film and storytelling and who are excellent at what they do.
Regarding the productions we make, we will make one quality production over ten mediocre productions. Every time.
We believe a unique trait at Moon Era Films is that we're not only focusing on creating experiences for our audiences through high-quality storytelling, but that each of our projects is an incredible experience for our cast/crew.
Some of the best parts of our journey will be the amount of fun we have in all aspects of production together. We never want to take our internal experiences for granted.
Ideas are what will build this company. So, why wouldn't we only pick the best ideas?
No matter the department, role, or individual, everyone on our team's voice matters, from the director to the set designer to the lighting technician to the production assistant.
If we can't be honest with each other, we're doomed from the start.
The only way to successfully collaborate in a creative environment is to be able to provide different ideas/perspectives, constructive criticism, and honest opinions. We're not necessarily calling your baby ugly, we're just saying your ideas won't always win. And that's a good thing!
Also, it's not about how much credit any of us get. It's about the quality in our storytelling as a collective.
In every single production, every trip, every long shooting day, every late night making props, every early morning working on set, every pizza dinner we share, every film festival we win, every festival we lose, every amazing picture we make, every fail we have, every last-minute change, every stressful rush to hit a deadline, every laugh we have on set, every tear we cry on or off set, every good idea we celebrate, every bad idea we let go of, every creative collaboration we share, every painful critique we get, every positive encouragement we give, and every impossible task we set out to do.
We vow to make our lives extraordinary. And to thoroughly enjoy contributing our verse to the powerful play. And to leave a legacy for our kids and our kids’ kids. And ultimately, to love others well and leave the world a better place when we're gone.
